Security at HonestPDF: Verify, Don't Trust

HonestPDF processes every file entirely inside your browser. Files never upload to any server, so you don't have to trust us on this. You can verify it in 30 seconds with the tests below.

Cloud PDF Tools

HonestPDF (Local)

Memory processing via WebAssembly

Company Server (Unused)

Because HonestPDF uses WebAssembly, it brings the PDF processing engine directly to your browser. Your files never travel over the network. The only trade-off? Very large files are constrained by your device's RAM, ensuring maximum privacy.

Don't take our word for it. Run these 3 tests.

Test 1: Airplane Mode
How to test
1. Open any tool page (like /merge) 2. Turn off your Wi-Fi 3. Drop a PDF to process
ResultIt still processes perfectly.
Significance
If processing required a server, it would break instantly (try it with Smallpdf or iLovePDF).Note: navigating between tools requires reconnection, but individual tools work fully offline once loaded.
Test 2: DevTools Network Tab
How to test
1. Open DevTools (F12) > Network tab 2. Filter by 'Fetch/XHR' 3. Upload a file to process
ResultZero requests carry your file data.
Significance
The browser shows every network request. You can see your file data never leaves.
Test 3: WebAssembly Modules
How to test
1. Open DevTools (F12) > Network tab 2. Filter by 'WASM' or 'Wasm' 3. Reload the page
ResultYou'll see the PDF parsing modules downloaded once.
Significance
Instead of sending files to a server, we send the server to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Because you don't have to trust us, you can verify it. Turn off your Wi-Fi after a tool page loads, or open your browser's Network tab. You'll see the PDF merges, redacts, and signs without sending a single byte.
