How to merge PDF files
- Move up and Move down: put the files in the order their pages should follow. The list shows the total page count as you go, and one merge takes up to 1,000 files.
- Remove file: takes a file back out before you merge. A file locked with a password is marked Needs a password and left out.

Are there any file size or page limits for merging?
There is no file size or page limit. One merge takes up to 1,000 files, and how large the result can be depends on your device's memory.
Can I rearrange pages before merging?
You can put the files in order: every file in the list has up and down arrows, and the merged PDF follows that order. Pages inside a file keep their order here. To move, rotate or delete single pages, open the file in Organize PDF before or after merging.
Can I merge PDFs with different page sizes?
Yes. HonestPDF preserves the original page dimensions of each file. If one PDF is A4 and another is Letter, both retain their native size in the merged output.
What happens to bookmarks and links in the merged PDF?
Links stay: a hyperlink inside a source page keeps working in the merged file. Bookmarks do not: the outline trees are not merged, so the merged document has no bookmark panel.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
HonestPDF can read owner-restricted PDFs, but user-password-locked files must be unlocked first. Use HonestPDF Unlock PDF to remove the password, then merge the unlocked files.
How many PDFs can I merge at once?
Up to 1,000 files in one merge, and every merge is free, whatever the number of files. The files are combined in your device's memory, so a very large merge needs a computer with memory to spare; on a phone the tab may run out.

Yes. The merge operation concatenates PDF page structures without re-encoding. Scanned image pages and native text pages combine seamlessly into one file.
Does the merged file keep the original text searchable?
Yes. Merging does not rasterize or flatten pages. All selectable and searchable text in the source files remains fully intact in the merged output.
