Frequently asked questions

Will the resulting PowerPoint be fully editable?
Partly. Every page is rendered at twice its size and placed on its own slide as a picture, so the slide shows the page as it looks. You can reorder slides and add your own text boxes and shapes, but the page's own text does not arrive as editable text.
Can I convert presentation slides that were saved as images?
Yes, and the result is the same as for any PDF: each page goes onto a slide as a picture. Our free OCR tool makes a scanned PDF's text copyable, so you can paste it into the deck, but the slide still carries the page as an image.
Will the slide layouts from my PDF be preserved?
Yes. HonestPDF recreates each PDF page as an individual PowerPoint slide, preserving the visual layout including text positions, images, and graphic elements.
Can I edit the text in the converted PowerPoint file?
Not the text that came from the PDF: it is part of the page picture. You can add your own text boxes on top, and copy the original text with our PDF to Text tool.
Does the conversion work with multi-page PDFs?
Absolutely. Each page of your PDF becomes a separate slide in the PowerPoint output. A 30-page PDF will produce a 30-slide presentation.
Are images and charts preserved during conversion?
They keep their place and their look: the whole page is rendered at 2x and placed on the slide as one picture, so nothing shifts. They do not arrive as separate objects you can edit one by one.
What PowerPoint format is the output file?
The output is in .pptx format, compatible with Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 and later, Google Slides, LibreOffice Impress, and Apple Keynote.
Is there a limit on the number of slides I can convert?
There is no hard page limit. Since conversion happens locally on your device, it depends only on your device memory. Most PDFs of reasonable size convert in seconds.
