How to split a PDF
- Extract Pages: click the pages you want in the thumbnails, and Shift+Click to take every page in between. They come out as one PDF, or each page as its own PDF in a ZIP.
- By Range: type ranges such as 1-5, 8, 11-13. Each range becomes its own PDF, named after its pages, in one ZIP.
- Fixed Interval: give a number of pages, and the document is cut into parts that long.

Are there page or file size limits for splitting?
No. HonestPDF processes splits using your device's own memory, so there are no page limits, no file size restrictions, and no premium tier required: ever.
Can I extract specific page ranges from a large PDF?
Yes. You can select individual pages, custom ranges like 3-7, or split every N pages: all with a visual preview. HonestPDF shows full-page thumbnails so you can visually confirm exactly which pages you're extracting before downloading.
How do I extract a specific range of pages?
In By Range mode, type the pages, for example 5-12. Each range you enter becomes its own PDF, and they come together in a ZIP. To pick pages by clicking their thumbnails and get one PDF, use Extract Pages.
Can I split a PDF into single, individual pages?
Yes. In Extract Pages, press Select All and tick "Extract pages as separate files (ZIP)". A 20-page document gives a ZIP of 20 PDFs, one per page. Fixed Interval set to 1 does the same.
Is there a limit on how large the PDF can be?
Because the processing happens locally on your device RAM, there are no hard file size limits. You can split large textbooks, legal briefs, or high-resolution design portfolios.
Can I remove specific pages I do not need?
Yes. By selecting the pages you want to keep, you effectively remove the ones you do not select. The final downloaded PDF will only contain your chosen pages.
