Gemini's route runs through Google Docs, and that is the catch
Gemini is the one assistant with a real export path built in: an answer can be pushed straight into Google Docs, and from Docs you can download a PDF. It works, but it is a detour with side effects. The content lands in Drive, which means the conversation you were trying to keep private now lives in a cloud document, the export usually carries a single response rather than the whole back and forth, and Docs reflows the formatting on the way in, so code blocks and tables rarely arrive looking the way they did in the chat. If all you wanted was a file on your disk, you have added a Google account round trip to get it.
Getting a Gemini conversation into a PDF directly
